The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
